Platinum OG Strain

Platinum OG is an Indica-dominant hybrid that’s one of the “heaviest” strains available. This strain asserts itself with large lime green flowers, a coating of bright orange hairs, and an abundance of THC crystals. A heady onset gives way to powerful physical sedation, making this strain great for nighttime use or relief from pain, stress, or anxiety.

This strain originates from California’s Bay Area. It’s purported to stem from three strains: OG Kush, Master Kush, and a third unknown parent.

Because of its heavy effects, this strain is recommended only for experienced users. Beginners may find the “platinum” in Platinum OG overwhelming as the indica side of this strain is quite potent, with THC levels of 19%.

Platinum OG helps patients with depression, pain, and anxiety. It’s also used as a muscle relaxant. It gives a feeling of heaviness, relaxation, and calmness. The most common side effects include feelings of tiredness, dry mouth, and dizziness.

Flowering time takes about 8 to 9 weeks. Platinum OG can grow indoors and outdoors. It can be grown in soil, hydro systems, or nutrient systems. It does well in greenhouses too. In the greenhouse, it grows best between 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit and 70% humidity.

It can grow to be quite tall, as high as 3 feet outdoors, and larger than 2 feet indoors. Platinum OG is typically cured to a medium-low amber color for its dense flower structure. The aroma is sweet earthy with a grape-like smell. The taste is earthy and has hints of pine.
