Hawaiian is a Sativa-dominant strain originating from Hawaii. This strain was made by crossing Hawaiian Indica with Hawaiian Sativa and is known to offer a happy and creative high. It has also been cross-bred with Thai Sativa. It originated in Hawaii over 20 years ago.

Medical marijuana patients choose Hawaiian to help relieve symptoms associated with pain, bipolar disorder, and muscle spasms. Although it’s easy to overindulge in this strain due to its uplifting qualities, it’s also relaxing with just enough body-high effects for total mental stimulation.

The adverse effects of Hawaiian are elevated mood swings and panic attacks, dizziness, and feelings of paranoia. The THC levels in this strain are average, ranging between 15% and 19%. The aroma of this strain is reminiscent of fruit flavors like pineapple mixed with lime.

Hawaiian is considered a high-yielding strain that takes up to 11 weeks to flower outdoors. It flowers anywhere between 56–63 days indoors. This is a strain that will remind you of lush rainforests, beaches with palm fronds in the breeze, and sunsets over tall palms on sandy shores.

Growers say this strain does well in indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse settings due to its high-yield production and resistance to mold and pests. Medical marijuana patients can expect to get as much as 14 ounces per square foot from this strain when grown outdoors in optimal conditions. The plant has a fairly low odor, so growers may choose to grow marijuana indoors in spaces where other plants are grown.
