Vortex Strain

Vortex is a Sativa-dominant cross between the legendary Apollo 13 and a true California classic, Space Queen. The strain possesses mildly Sativa dominant rates with an 80% Indica/20% Sativa ratio. This strain originated in Northern California but can be found throughout the state.

Vortex is both a recreational and medicinal strain. The effects of this strain are deeply felt throughout the body that includes an energizing buzz to a mellow and relaxing euphoria. Medical marijuana patients enjoy this strain because it offers relief to a wide array of symptoms, including chronic pain, depression, and anxiety.

The known side effects of this strain include dry eyes or mouth, paranoia, and anxiety. The THC level is very high at 16-25%, but the CBD levels are low at less than 1%. The flavor is more intense than the aroma, described as a sweet and sour lemon flavor with undertones of tropical fruit like mango.

This strain can be grown indoors or outdoors in a greenhouse. It should be started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date and then planted out once the temperatures have reached a minimum of 65 degrees which can take about 3-4 weeks. The optimal flowering time for Vortex is 8-10 weeks, with the best results being achieved during the summer months.
