Sweet Tea is a Sativa-dominant hybrid strain created by crossing Alcatraz OG, California Orange, and The Dude. Sweet Tea is named after its intensely sweet flavor profile that tastes similar to floral jasmine tea and sugared oranges. Upon exhaling, you’ll experience a woody aroma that helps cut the sharpness of the citrus. It has been popular in Southern California since its creation in 2004.

The effects of this strain can be slow to onset but tend to last for hours. When smoking Sweet Tea, you’ll feel a heady high that eventually gives way to a calm body sensation. Many consumers report uplifting, euphoric energy that helps them get their daily tasks done without outside distractions.

Medical marijuana patients often cite this strain’s ability to alleviate stress, depression, fatigue, and migraines. The strain is commonly used to help people unwind after a long day and ease the symptoms of menstrual cramps. Sweet Tea has been shown to be effective at treating PMS in some patients.

Sweet Tea has a THC level that ranges from 16-25% on average. Due to its high THC level, Sweet Tea is not recommended for novice users. The adverse effects associated with high THC levels include paranoia, dizziness, and dry mouth.

This strain can thrive indoors and outdoors in temperate climates. It is resistant to molds and disease, though it has a relatively slow flowering time of around 6-8 weeks. Trimming can be tedious due to the numerous pistils that cover the buds. Sweet Tea comes in small, round nugs with bright green with orange hairs and a frosty coating of white trichomes.
