Spec Ops Strain

Spec Ops has been seen as a rare and potent Indica-dominant hybrid, created by crossing Bio Diesel with Alien Rock Candy. This strain originated in Emerald Triangle, California. The flavor profile of this strain is predominantly earthy notes, but it ends with an herbal spicy note.

Medical marijuana patients choose this strain to help relieve symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, and insomnia. In addition, it has been known to trigger creativity due to its sedating effects (which can lead some users down a rabbit hole). It also gives consumers feelings of euphoria and calmness.

The adverse effects of this strain include dry eyes and a cotton mouth. Very high doses of Spec Ops can lead to couchlock and sleepiness. Due to this strain’s high concentration of THC (12-15%) is not for novice marijuana consumers. The aroma of this strain is reminiscent of mint and pine with an underpinning earthy aroma.

Flowering usually takes 7-8 weeks and yields a medium-sized harvest (6-7 pounds). Spec Ops buds are dense, with a light green hue bridging into darker lime green coloration toward the bottom. It features thick, frosty trichomes and displays some leafy remnants from its Indica heritage.

This strain can be grown well indoors or out. Outdoors, it flourishes in a Mediterranean climate similar to Bio Diesel’s native region. Indoor cultivation favors hydroponic methods. It prefers a moderate fertilizer schedule and requires attention to pin pruning if you are growing it indoors.
