Lemon OG is a hybrid cannabis strain that spans between two of the most popular indica strains in existence. Its origin is where a lot of its flavor comes from. One parent was cultivated in Las Vegas (Lemon Skunk) while the other was grown and bred in California (OG #18).
It is a heavy-hitting strain that can quickly put you to sleep if you are not careful. The buds are small, dense nuggets covered by an abundance of orange hairs and resin. The aroma is very pungent and it will almost smell like lemon Pledge when you break open a bud, but don’t be fooled by the fruity scent as it is actually very skunky. The flavor is reminiscent of citrus as well with a more subtle hint of herb.
The sensation first hits the eyes when smoking Lemon OG, followed by the mind. It’s a very soothing feeling that spreads throughout the body and it makes you want to lay down and relax. Its adverse effects are also very noticeable, which is why it is not recommended for beginners. It will make you paranoid and can cause paranoia headaches, but there are some that enjoy the heaviness.
It can help with stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Lemon OG is a great pain reliever but it also helps with sleep disorders as well. The THC content of Lemon OG is at 20%.
This variety will often grow over four feet tall and will produce buds in both a Sativa and indica form. You can grow it indoors or outdoors. The plant usually matures around 10 weeks and you can expect medium yields from a single harvest of this strain.
It is very susceptible to spider mites but resistant to fungus, root rot, powdery mildew, and thrips. It is also resistant to pests like aphids and whiteflies. Lemon OG can be an excellent strain for the novice gardener as it is very forgiving in terms of growing mistakes and will not require a lot of attention on your part.
