Blackwater Strain

Blackwater strain is an Indica-dominant strain made by crossing Mendo Purps with San Fernando Valley OG Kush. This strain originated in the United States but can be found in Canada, Europe, and Australia. Blackwater has a sweet grape smell that is accompanied by subtle lemon and pine undertones.

This strain offers a mellow head high and later a full-body high. With an earthy pine taste, Blackwater offers both body relief and uplifting, relaxing mental effects. In addition, Blackwater has more CBD than the San Fernando Valley OG Kush, making it useful for medical marijuana patients looking for pain or stress and insomnia relief without the paranoia often experienced with pure Indica strains.

The adverse effects of Blackwater include dry eyes, dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness/drowsiness, and muscle cramps. The THC level of Blackwater is high at 19%, leading to a heightened sense of feeling. Blackwater is good for medicinal purposes, as it has a high CBD content – some sources put it at almost 5% CBD, which is way above average.

Growing this strain is best done indoors before the plants reach heights of six feet. Blackwater is susceptible to root rot if the soil is too wet. Flowering usually takes anywhere between eight to ten weeks, and yields are around five ounces per square foot.
